NLconnect Panel on Scope 3 Reduction and CSRD Reporting at ANGA COM

2025

On June 4, NLconnect will host a panel session at ANGA COM in Cologne titled “Beyond Compliance: How Reporting Standards Drive Sustainable Innovation.” This session is a must-attend for fixed and mobile operators and their suppliers, who are jointly working to reduce value chain (Scope 3) emissions and who are preparing for sustainability reporting requirements. These topics are rapidly rising on the strategic agenda of operators and suppliers across the telecom industry.

The session will explore how the NLconnect Product Category Rules (PCRs) offer a practical and standardized approach to classifying the environmental impact of passive and active fiber components through Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs). But it doesn’t stop there. The panel will also discuss how other frameworks and tools can complement the PCRs and strengthen sustainability strategies across the sector. These include, the Corporate Net-Zero Standard by SBTi, the ITU’s Green Digital Action Programme, the CTI framework, the EcoPlatform developed by the FTTH Council Europe as well as collaborative steps taken by the Joint Alliance for CSR (JAC) and GSMA. Together, these initiatives can help telecom operators and vendors meet their sustainability targets and regulatory obligations—while also enabling innovation and long-term value creation.

Confirmed speakers include Jeroen Kanselaar, Manager ESG at Eurofiber and Chair of the Sustainability Committee at FTTH Council Europe; Patty van Broekhoven, Sustainability Manager at Netceed; Christina Rieke, Sustainability Manager at Odido; and Olivier van Duuren, Sustainability Officer at Genexis and Chair of the Sustainability Committee at NLconnect. With backgrounds ranging from ESG strategy and circular procurement to product design and regulatory compliance, these experts will share actionable insights from their own organizations. The session concludes with a moderated panel discussion and Q&A, offering room for exchange and reflection on what’s next for sustainability in fiber and telecom.

The session takes place on June 4 from 14:30 to 15:30 in Room 2 at the ANGA COM conference, as part of the Technology and Practice track.

Access is available with either a Conference Ticket (full access to the conference programme) or a Conference Technology Panels Ticket, which grants access specifically to the sessions within this track. Members of NLconnect are eligible for a 15% discount on both types of conference tickets. Please note that both ticket types are available separately from the standard exhibition ticket (NLconnect also offers a code for free access to the exhibition floor with a standard exhibition ticket).

Join us on June 4 at ANGA COM to be part of a forward-looking conversation on making telecom infrastructure more sustainable—beyond compliance.
